Sustainable Development Goals
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) act as a universal call for action by all countries to tackle climate change, end poverty and build a more sustainable and inclusive world by 2030. It is referred to as the ‘to-do list’ for the world.
SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns
12.5 By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.
ChainCraft can upcycle organic waste streams into valuable circular chemicals which can be used for food, feed, and material applications. This avoids the degradation of biomass to energy and prevents the use of destructive resources such as fossil fuel and palm oil.
SDG 13: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
13.2 integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies, and planning
ChainCraft uses food waste instead of destructive fossil fuel and palm oil, leading to a significant carbon footprint reduction and positive contribution to limit climate change.
SDG 15: Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse land degradation and halt biodiversity loss.
15.2 By 2020, promote the implementation of sustainable management of all types of forests, halt deforestation, restore degraded forests and substantially increase afforestation and reforestation globally.
By implementing a local and circular concept and substituting oil palm based fatty acids, ChainCraft indirectly contributes to halt deforestation.
